About UBC UK Ltd
UBC is a national provider of flexible serviced offices, meeting and co-working spaces. When Jane Erasmus contacted me about LinkedIn training for her team, I knew straight away I wanted to work with them. I’d been to some business networking at their base in Birchwood, Warrington and was really impressed by what I experienced. UBC really care for their clients, supporting them with skills boosting events and fun on site activities. I even got my car cleaned whilst I was there as part of a charity event!
The brief
Jane asked me to deliver a remotely accessible programme of LinkedIn training for her National Sales team. She wanted to build their confidence on the platform, so they could use it to build links with the local business community. She asked for a fun yet challenging training programme that would support her team to generate new sales enquiries.
The training
My remote LinkedIn training course was the perfect fit for UBC. With a team of seven Sales Managers based all over the UK, they needed a course that was easily accessible for everyone. Once a week over four weeks, I got the team together for an hour-long Zoom video conferencing call. The sessions were manageable bite-sized chunks so nobody felt overwhelmed.
We covered:
- The basics of using LinkedIn
- How to adapt your profile to appeal to your target market
- How to find your ideal customer
- Developing an engagement strategy
- Posting content and writing articles
- Monitoring results
Most of the delegates had only ever used LinkedIn for job searches, so a key part of the training was to make the shift to use the platform as a promotional tool rather than a CV. We talked about all the things that set UBC apart from the competition and the need to shout about these in their posts.
After each session I set the delegates a challenge to complete before the next week. This kept them engaged and active on LinkedIn – and guess what, they started to enjoy it!
I was available in between sessions to answer any questions. I encouraged people to contact me via LinkedIn to get them used to the messaging function.
After each weekly session, I asked each delegate to send me some key statistics from their personal profile. The results were incredible!
